about

This project was influenced through early song styles written between 2006 and 2008 when I was in Black Eyed Anchor, and out of the frustration of having a country band (OKFY Radio) that never had the edge I wanted. The edge of Jael's Peg that is still not realized in volume instead, hopefully, is captured in mood and grit. The bulk of the material was written from 2011-2014, Payday being the one exception. Leslie Hammer generously agreed to contribute with the violin and viola on Octavian and Antietam for the recording. Caroline Hecht (formerly of Providence) contributed vocals on The Goat The Foal And The Serpent Dog. That track always had her vocals in mind and I'm very thankful for that. Anne Marie saved Octavian with her vocal accompaniment.

Rooted in punk rock JP is a farmer's catharsis without too many complications of wires and gizmos. Although kicking and screaming in the 21st century JP is a measure of contradiction. ... more
